Welcome! If you are concerned that your child is struggling… you are not alone. Struggle is a part of life, and therapy can help your young person manage the challenges that come his or her way.
Every child and adolescent encounters various obstacles throughout their lifetime, and he or she might understandably not yet have the necessary skills to navigate these obstacles effectively. In therapy your child or teen can learn and practice new skills that can help him or her better manage these obstacles. He or she can learn skills that empower him or her to identify and communicate thoughts, feelings, and emotions…and express them in helpful ways.
When a child or teen is struggling it can affect the way they behave and interact at home, the way they interact (or don’t) with friends, and the way they feel about school and themselves as a student. You want to support your child and therapy can help with that.
Is your young person having a hard time adjusting to a new school, grade, or home environment? If the answer is yes I can help. You and I can work together to support your child with a plan that is individualized to meet his or her needs. Your child will need you to participate in the process, but I believe that would not be a problem as you are already here and reading and thinking about how to help your child or teen.
Below you will find possible ways your young person might be responding or reacting to challenges he or she is facing:
